Dear Team, 

As I shared during our recent All-Hands meeting, one of the most profound experiences during our trip to Tanzania was witnessing the tangible impact of our non-profit partner programs. Seeing the direct difference our work makes in these communities was truly inspiring and something for us all to be proud of. 

We saw firsthand the impact of our donation to the Kitarini Primary School through Gem Legacy, which funds school meals for 900 students. The 186,400 meals served in 2023 alone have contributed to an astounding 900% increase in school attendance and a 93% increase in the student’s final exam passing rates. This is especially striking since only 58% of rural Tanzanian children complete primary school, leaving 40% of the country’s population with six years or less of education. Meeting with the students and incredible teachers at this school inspired me to find a way to bring this fundamental need to even more children. We concluded the trip by pledging additional funding to expand this food program to other schools in the area, serving more communities in need.
